Sober AI Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 17, 2025 Last Updated: October 17, 2025

Introduction

Welcome to Sober AI (“we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in relation to our website, products, and community platforms (collectively, the “Service”). Your privacy is foundational to our mission.

By using the Service, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Our Privacy Commitment Our approach is simple: Privacy by Default.

  • We do not sell or rent your personal data. Ever.
  • We do not store or have access to your private conversations with any third-party AI.
  • We only collect the minimum information necessary to provide the Service.

2. Information We Handle A. Information We Do NOT Collect or Store:

  • AI Conversations: Your prompts and the AI’s responses are processed by third-party platforms (like OpenAI’s ChatGPT). We do not see, record, or store the content of these interactions.
  • User Accounts: We do not require user accounts to access the main Sober AI website.

B. Information You Voluntarily Provide:

  • Email Address: If you subscribe to our mailing list, your email is collected and managed by our email provider (Klaviyo) to send you updates and products.
  • Payment Information: If you purchase a product, your payment is processed by a secure third-party payment processor (Stripe or Shopify). We never see or store your full credit card details.
  • Community Content: If you choose to join our private community (Circle), you may share information or create content. Your participation is governed by that platform’s terms and your own discretion.
  • Direct Communications: If you email us for support, we will have your email address and the contents of your message.

C. Technical Data We Handle:

  • Like virtually all websites, our servers may log anonymous, non-personal technical data (such as browser type or IP address) for security, debugging, and service-maintenance purposes. This data is not used to personally identify or track you.

3. How We Use Third-Party Services We rely on trusted third-party services to operate. When you interact with these aspects of our Service, you are also subject to their respective privacy policies.

  • Email & Digital Products: Klaviyo
  • Payment Processing: Stripe & Shopify Payments
  • Private Community: Circle.so
  • AI Processing: Third-party Large Language Models (LLMs) like OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Your use of the AI is a direct interaction with that service, and we are not a party to that communication.

4. Critical Disclaimers

  • Educational Use Only; Not Medical Advice: Sober AI is a tool for self-reflection. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychiatric, or therapeutic advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI-generated content is for educational and informational purposes only.
